Six Taiwanese companies ranked in Fortune 500.
According to Taiwan Today recently, Hon Hai Precision Industry, Cathay Life Insurance, CPC Corp., Formosa Petrochemical, Quanta Computer, and Asustek Computer have made the Fortune 500 again this year.
"Most of the companies are ranked higher than last year. Hon Hai jumped from 132nd to 109th, followed by Cathay Life (291), CPC (306), Formosa Petrochemical (323), Quanta (342) and Asustek (436), Especially seven out of the top 10 are energy companies" said Taiwan Today.
Meanwhile, total of 37 Chinese companies appear on the list this year, and Japan has the second largest number of companies on the list, with 68. Specially Toyota Motor Corp which listed at number 10, is the only automotive company in the top 10.

최근 타이완투데이에 따르면, 혼.하이 산업, 카세이 생명, CPC등 대만의 6개 기업이 포춘 500대기업에 선정되었다는 것.
이 소식통은 이어 ‘대부분 대만 업체들은 지난해 보다 순위가 많이 올랐다’고 전하면서 특히 주목할 만한 사실은 10위까지의 기업들 중, 7개가 에너지 관련 회사라고 밝혔다.
한편, 중국은 37개 기업이 랭크된 반면, 일본은 68개 기업이 세계 500대 기업에 올랐는데, 도요타 자동차(주)의 경우 세계 톱 10으로 자동차 회사로는 유일하게 등극했다.
