Taiwan had been severely damaged in the international income due to Aug.8 flood & Typhoon, said the Bureau of Tourism/BOT recently.
Director-general of the Bureau of Tourism, Lai Seh-Jen said that about NT$2.7 billion (US$82 million) has been lost just from mainland tourists since the August 8.
" Considering that August is the peak season for international tourism, and a loss of NT$5.9 billion has been incurred in this sector. Flood damage totals NT$1.8 billion, not including the costs of road repairs " She added.
지난 8월초 대만을 강타한 태풍 모라꼿으로인해 중국관광객 수요가 급감,중구관광객들로부터만 미화 8천2백만 달러어치의 관광수입이 감소했다.
대만 관광국의 라이.써.젼 국장은 최근 이같이 밝히고, 8월이 국제관광객들에게 최고의 시즌임을 감안한다면, 전체적으로 약 미화 2억달러에 육박하는 관광수입이 감소한것이라고 전했다.
